HOW TO SORT OUT MOZILLA BLACK WINDOW PROBLEM:

Start mozilla safe mode, and played around with some settings after I found that changing gfx.direct2d.disabled from false to true solves this issue. Hope you guys can use this solution as well.

Edit: To start Firefox in safe mode, keep shift pressed while you start the browser.

 Edit 2: To change FIrefox settings, type "about:config" in the address bar

wait for few seconds or a min. depending upon the amount of the hidden data.

 Solution:
1) Choose Start > Programs > Oracle - HOME_NAME > Configuration and Migration Tools > Administration Assistant for Windows.
2) Right-click the SID.
3) Choose Startup/Shutdown Options.
4) Choose the Oracle Instance tab.
Select Start up instance when service is started, Shut down instance when service is stopped, or both.
then restarted the machine and it worked.
